About Kühtai:

High above the Ötztal valley road to Sölden and Obergurgl and only 35 minutes from Innsbruck and its airport, is the cosiest ski-in, ski-out resort of all.

kuhtai-hunting-picIt has an impressive commitment to infrastructure and growth thanks to the planned installation of a 100MB WIFI network and year-on-year growth in overnight stays.

Please review our Kühtai news blog posts to get more of an overview on Kühtai.

For centuries, Kühtai was the preferred hunting estate of the Habsburgs and today Christian Count Stolberg (great-grandson of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria) runs the neighbouring Jagdschloss Hotel with its baroque chapel, a famous destination for summer hikers.

Kühtai is situated in unforgettable scenery in a huge snow bowl with lots of snow and a link to the pistes of Hochoetz and Oetz.

This snow sure resort makes skiing possible as late as May and because of its long season it’s a high altitude training camp for athletes like Bode Miller and Lindsay Vonn.

It is well suited to families, and intermediate skiers and lift queues are rare.

For the more adventurous, this is also a freerider’s paradise for skiers and boarders with extensive back country terrain.

Kühtai boasts 80 km of pisted skiing and  is linked via a free 5-minute bus ride to the Hochoetz ski area with growth plans for more lifts and skiing area in the future.
